Notes from Betty Spurlock Smithson:  This pedigree is well documented back to John Spurlock Sr.  Both he and John Jr. were patriots in the Revolutionary War.  Records are scarce before that time but Charles, William and Jonathan appear in many records.  I have relied on the very able research of Cleatus A. Lewis (1932 – 2011) a great grandson of John Thomas Spurlock, brother of Robert Archibald Spurlock.  I am currently documenting this pedigree and making corrections in Family Search/Family Tree.  If you go into that website you will see what needs to be done.  Please understand that I am correcting as fast as I can and have good documentation to support my work.
